The 5 Guiding Principles of Midlife Glow Up Academy

These principles are the keys to unlocking your greatest potential, health, and life satisfaction.

I invite you to reflect on each one and notice where you could give yourself a little extra TLC.

When these foundations are out of balance, it often fuels unhelpful patterns—like binge eating, drinking, shopping, or other ways we try to numb or escape.

LISTEN. LIVE. LOVE. LEARN. BURN.

(And remember: The 80/20 Philosophy—strive for balance, not perfection.)

LISTEN

Listen to your body, your intuition, and your soul—they’re always speaking to you through signals, nudges, and messages.

Cravings, for example, can be emotional or physiological.

  • Emotional cravings often bubble up when life feels off-kilter—whether it’s work, finances, relationships, or simply a lack of joy. When you’re unbalanced, you’re more likely to eat, drink, shop, or scroll to check out and numb discomfort.

  • Physiological cravings often stem from unbalanced nutrition, unstable blood sugar, or vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

Slow down. Tune in. Observe. Your body is always telling you what it needs.

LIVE

Live your best life as the best version of yourself—not someone else.

Ditch the scale and focus on inch loss, strength, and energy. Let go of society’s unrealistic expectations and start celebrating who you already are.

It’s incredibly liberating to release perfectionism and simply focus on polishing the diamond that is already within you.

LOVE

We are all spiritual beings having a human experience.

When we don’t nurture every dimension of ourselves, life can feel depleted and unfulfilling.

There are six core areas—your Love Buckets—that create harmony, vitality, and purpose:

  1. Personal & Professional Relationships

  2. Connection & Community

  3. Health & Movement

  4. Purposeful Work

  5. Play & Creativity

  6. Self-Development

When these buckets are full, you feel whole—and your light shines brighter.

LEARN

Stay curious. Keep growing.

Personal evolution requires us to read, explore, and ask better questions.

Remember: mistakes are not failures—they are lessons and stepping stones to a more expanded version of you.

BURN

Fitness is just 20% of the lifestyle equation. The real transformation happens in how you live—your daily habits, your mindset, and your environment.

Find movement you love and can sustain for a lifetime.

Contrary to popular belief, fitness doesn’t have to be punishing to be effective.

The purpose of exercise is to keep you mobile, resilient, energized, and strong. And yes—it’s supposed to be fun, sustainable and delicious too.
